Vision Day led by Jean Kerr, Director of Mission and Community Engagement

“Be thou my vision” we were singing in All Saints Church today – as an expression of our longing, at the beginning of this new year for God to be the vision of our lives.

Vision is about seeing, about what I see as the purpose of my life. In this prayerful sentence we are saying to God that we recognize Him as the purpose of our lives. The words apply both for my personal life, but also for our common life together as church. However, it is not always so easy to discern what is God’s purpose for my life or for the life of the church. Therefore it is important explicitly to regularly take time to review our life with God and give Him space to communicate what he has in mind for us.

The year 2016 will be a time when we in All Saints Church want to give God space to show how He wants to use us in order for His kingdom to be even more visible here in Chatham.

We will start this process with a Vision Day on Saturday the 23rd of January 10am-3pm.

You who worship regularly in All Saints Church are sharing in God’s purpose for this church and therefore you are important in discerning God’s vision for the life of the church. With this we want to say that we really hope to see you on the 23rd!
