When the Shelter closes, guests will lose the community and support that they have had over this period. The Salvation Army, Chatham, have offered to host a Tuesday evening drop in each week from 8pm-10pm, where guests can come along, receive some simple food, but also engage with services that might help them with their ongoing needs. They are very keen that it be more than just a Salvation Army initiative. There will be an open meeting at the SA Citadel in Chatham on Monday 22nd February at 4:30pm, for anyone interested in helping to shape this initiative, and getting involved with it as it goes forward.
